Philadelphia Roman Catholic defensive lineman Jameial Lyons will announce his college commitment on August 4, he tweeted Sunday.

That is nearly four months from now.

Lyons top five schools are CincinnatiIllinois, Penn StatePittsburgh and West Virginia

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Lyons as the No. 465 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle.

However, the Industry Comparison Tool shows On3 views him the highest in the industry. Lyons is the No. 241 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking. The only players from Pennsylvnaia ahead of him in the rankings are Reading (Pa.) Wyomissing five-star offensive lineman Jven Williams, Pittsburgh Brashear four-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson and Uniontown (Pa.) Laurel Highlands four-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13.6k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The Nittany Lions are the current favorite to land the top Keystone State talent, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

BWI’s Ryan Snyder has entered a prediction for Lyons going to Penn State with 70% confidence.

“From the environment to the academics to the team meetings to the coaching staff, everything there works for me,” Jameial Lyons told BWI. “I went to the White Out game at Penn State one time and it was incredible. I could picture myself walking out the tunnel there, being there for the next three or four years, being in that blue and white. Coach [James] Franklin is a great head coach, too. There’s not too many people out there in the world who really want to help people out. He cares about you more than just a football player. He wants to help you get to the NFL, but also be successful after that. So, I know Penn State got a good coach there.”
