Former <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/oregon-ducks/">Oregon</a> linebacker <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/emarrion-winston-41644/">Emar’rion Winston</a> is heading to the Big 12. Winston has committed to <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/baylor-bears/">Baylor</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DEN15DfS5KZ/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=3f2149c0-9465-4ba3-b0ad-48b68f36a29b">he announced Monday afternoon</a> on Instagram.



Emar’rion Winston is heading to Baylor after spending three seasons at Oregon. This past year, he tallied eight tackles for the Ducks, while appearing in all 13 games. <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/oregon-ducks/news/oregon-lb-emarrion-winston-enters-ncaa-transfer-portal/">He entered the transfer portal</a> on Dec. 13.

Prior to coming to Oregon, Emar’rion Winston attended Central Catholic High in Portland, Oregon. He was ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 44 EDGE in the country in the class of 2022, <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/industry-player/football/2022/">per the On3 Industry Rankings</a>.



As a true freshman in 2022, Emar’rion Winston appeared in three games while redshirting. He then saw his role increase greatly for the 2023 season.



That year, Winston played in all 14 games and started the opener for the Ducks. He finished the 2023 season with 19 tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass breakup.



Winston once again played in every game this season, prior to entering the transfer portal. He will look to have a bigger role on the Baylor defense in 2025 than he had with Oregon this year.



The Ducks are currently in the College Football Playoff and will face <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/ohio-state-buckeyes/">Ohio State</a> in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday.



As for Baylor, the Bears are 8-4 on the season entering Tuesday’s Texas Bowl against <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/lsu-tigers/">LSU</a>.

Emar’rion Winston isn’t the only major pick up for Baylor out of the transfer portal in recent days.



<a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/auburn-tigers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Auburn</a> transfer quarterback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/walker-white-150911/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Walker White</a> committed to <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/baylor-bears/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Baylor</a> over the weekend.



White appeared in one game as a true freshman at Auburn, throwing for 15 yards in a November win over <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/louisiana-monroe-warhawks/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Louisiana-Monroe</a>. He will arrive in Waco with all four years of eligibility remaining after preserving a redshirt.



White played high school football at <a href="https://www.on3.com/high-school/little-rock-christian-academy-little-rock-ar-1499/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Little Rock (AR) Christian Academy</a>, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 86 overall player and No. 7-ranked quarterback from the 2024 cycle, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/news/on3-industry-ratings-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">On3 Industry Ranking</a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.



After entering the portal, Walker White became one of the top quarterbacks to hit the open market. He ranks as the No. 82 overall player and No. 10-ranked QB to hit the portal this cycle, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/industry/football/2025/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">On3 Industry Transfer Rankings</a>.
