Week 3 has come and gone in the Southeastern Conference with one week left before league play really begins down south. But, in recapping coming out of the weekend, the SEC has announced their Players of the Week for Saturday’s games.

During Week 3, the SEC had four conference games with wins for No. 6 Georgia and Vanderbilt on the road and victories for No. 3 LSU and No. 17 Ole Miss at home. No. 16 Texas A&M and No. 19 Alabama also claimed big wins in the non-conference while No. 7 Texas, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 24 Auburn, No. 25 Missouri, Mississippi State, and Kentucky won their respective games as well.

With that, here are the SEC Players of the Week from this past weekend’s matchups:

Offensive

Stockton has been questioned a good bit coming into this season, especially going into his first career start both on the road and in conference play for what was a Top-15 matchup against No. 15 Tennessee. He more than proved himself, though, by being 23-31 (74.2%) for 304 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 38 yards and another score, with the Bulldogs’ offense helping to make a two-score comeback, posting 502 total yards, in the 44-41 OT win on Rocky Top.

Defensive

A pair of safeties were named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week after each picking off a pair of passes respectively for the Crimson Tide and the Tigers. Hubbard had his career-best with two interceptions, and two deflections, in a 38-14 win for ‘Bama against Wisconsin while Spears had the first two takeaways of his career, one going back for a 58-yard pick-six, as part of a five-interception effort in the 20-10 win for LSU over Florida.

Special Teams

As part of the 44-point effort from Georgia in Knoxville, Woodring contributed a dozen of those by himself kicking for the Bulldogs. He made all three of his extra points while tying a career-best for made field goals of 20 yards to cut the margin going into halftime, of 48 yards to extend a lead they’d earned in the third quarter, and of 24 yards to retake an early lead in the fourth quarter.

Offensive Line

On the offensive line, White and Pounds held it down for Vanderbilt and Ole Miss respectively. White graded as Vandy’s top offensive lineman again, not allowing any pressure either on QB Diego Pavia, the Commodores posted 323 total yards, at 5.1 yards per play with 22 first downs, in a 31-7 win at No. 11 South Carolina. Pounds was then part of an offensive output for the Rebels, led by their backup in QB Trinidad Chambliss, where they had 481 yards of offense, at 6.7 yards per play, in a 41-35 win over Arkansas.

Defensive Line

Not much defense was played in the 41-40 win for Texas A&M over No. 8 Notre Dame in South Bend on Saturday night. That said, Regis did his work on the Aggies’ defense line with seven tackles, five being solo, and a sack, which were some career-best numbers for the redshirt junior, in the top-ten road victory over the Fighting Irish.

Freshman

OU went on the road to Philadelphia and posted 515 yards of offense in a 42-3 win over Temple. 100 of those, at 7.1 yards per rush on 14 carries, and two of their scores, both of which came in the second quarter, came from Blaylock, the former four-star who had only 17 carries for 66 yards, at four yards per carry, and a touchdown in his first two collegiate outings but is now the leading rusher so far this season for the Sooners.
