Commitment time is approaching for Inglewood (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, one of the nation’s top 2026 pass-catchers.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday that he will announce his decision on May 4. In four days, he will choose between Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and USC.

Dixon-Wyatt is the No. 86 overall prospect and No. 12 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 13 player in California.

The blue-chipper has seen plenty of his top contenders this spring and had previously locked in summer official visits, too. He’s now set to come off the board very soon, and it’s Oregon that’s currently trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

When speaking with On3’s Chad Simmons last month, Dixon-Wyatt tabbed the Ducks as the top team in his process. Head coach Dan Lanning and new receivers coach Ross Douglas have both played a major part in Oregon’s push.

“Oregon has always been a top school for me, but they have recently really started to separate themselves from the other schools,” Dixon-Wyatt said.

Dixon-Wyatt talks top schools

In a previous interview with On3, Dixon-Wyatt talked about what has each of his top five programs standing out:

Alabama: “They have a great pipeline of talent at receiver. I have a great relationship with coach JaMarcus Shephard.”

Ohio State: “Their development stands out. They get top receivers and get them to the NFL under coach Brian Hartline.”

USC: “They can for sure be a contender in my recruitment. I know their quarterback, Husan Longstreet. They run a really good offense. They’re pretty good.”

Texas: “They have a really good offense. They played a really good defense when I was there. They’re a great all-around team. I like the relationships that I have with coach Steve Sarkisian and coach Chris Jackson.”

Oregon: “I’ve built a great relationship with the head coach – Dan Lanning… I have former high school teammates on the team. It’s not that far away. It feels like home every single time I go over there.”

Dixon-Wyatt continues to see stock rise

At the end of March, Dixon-Wyatt was a top performer at Overtime’s OT7. His performance caught the eye of On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire:

“In what was more of a safety net role on Day 1, Kayden Dixon-Wyatt exploded on Day 2,” Bellaire wrote. “He was by far SFE’s most productive wide receiver on Sunday which included three touchdowns on the day. He was finding space and moving the chains while also making contested catches in the endzone including the catch of the day which was a one-handed grab for six. He has some of the most reliable hands in OT7 and was one of the most consistent playmakers in Week 3.”

Playing for the nation’s No. 1 high school football program last season, Dixon-Wyatt will be one of, if not the top target for the Mater Dei offense this fall. The Monarchs went undefeated in 2024 and finished atop the On3 Composite Rankings.
