Tyree Adams injury update: Latest on LSU offensive tackle
LSU offensive tackle Tyree Adams is out for the Texas A&M game on Saturday, sources tell On3. The 6-foot-7, 310-pound starting left tackle sprained his ankle against Vanderbilt in the first quarter. He never returned and was seen on the sidelines in street clothes with crutches and a boot on his right leg.
With a bye following Texas A&M this week, there’s some hope he could be back by Alabama on Nov. 8. Adams has been a consistent presence for the Tigers so far this year with the challenge of protecting Garrett Nussmeier’s blindside. DJ Chester, Carius Curne and Ory Williams will be looked to step up in his absence.
As a leader of the offensive line unit, Tyree Adams has seen the shortcomings in the run game and has been adamant about making tweaks. The Tigers are currently No. 116 in the country in rushing yards per game while also averaging 3.99 yards per carry.

“It’s really just unity,” Adams said of the offensive line room’s growth. “We trust each other, and every day we’re coming together as one, battling not just on the field, but off the field too. Dealing with class, film, schedules, it’s the trust and unity we’ve built.”
LSU is 5-2 on the season and coming off a loss at Vanderbilt. For the Tigers to remain alive in the College Football Playoff race, they will have to run the table. LSU hosts No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday night in Death Valley. Kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
