Week 14 JP Poll: Top 20 power rankings undergo big changes ahead of college football rivalry games
The final week of the regular season is here, and rivalry games highlight the Week 14 slate. There were some major changes in the JP Poll following Week 13, though.
The top of the power ratings – remember, they’re not rankings – stayed the same after the highest-rated teams won last time out. But rivalry games are drawing plenty of attention this week as the college football regular season comes to a close.
Ahead of those matchup, the JP Poll is officially set. Here is the full Top 20 power ratings, as unveiled on Josh Pate’s College Football Show.
1. Ohio State (-)
Holding strong at No. 1 in the JP Poll, Ohio State stayed unbeaten with last week’s victory over Rutgers. The Buckeyes handled the Scarlet Knights with ease even despite the absences of both Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith on offense.
Of course, all eyes will be on the program this week as Ohio State heads to Ann Arbor. The Game is Saturday afternoon as the Buckeyes take on Michigan at The Big House as they look to clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship.
2. Georgia (-)

Also staying put at No. 2 in the JP Poll, Georgia took a break from SEC play last time out as Charlotte came to Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs cruised to victory, setting the stage for a huge rivalry matchup in Week 14.
A trip to Atlanta awaits for the Clean, Old Fashioned Hate game against Georgia Tech. UGA is in position for a bye in the College Football Playoff, based on Tuesday’s latest Top 25 rankings, and can stay on that path with a victory over the rival Yellow Jackets.
3. Texas A&M (+1)
Moving up a spot ahead of Week 14, Texas A&M is the last remaining unbeaten SEC team. The Aggies took care of business in their non-conference game last week against Samford, but a huge matchup awaits on Black Friday.
The Lone Star Showdown is Friday night as Texas A&M heads to Austin to take on Texas. It’s not only an opportunity for the Longhorns to get back in the CFP picture, but also for the Aggies to clinch a bye in the 12-team bracket.
4. Indiana (-1)
Despite being on a bye in Week 13, Indiana dropped a spot in the JP Poll. The Hoosiers are now at No. 4 as they look to complete an undefeated regular season this weekend.
IU has a rivalry matchup with Purdue awaiting on Saturday, with an opportunity to secure a spot in the Big Ten Championship, as well. The Hoosiers are also on path for a bye in the College Football Playoff as the rankings currently stand.
5. Alabama (-)

Staying put at No. 5, Alabama also had a break from SEC play as Eastern Illinois came to T-Town. The Crimson Tide cruised to the resounding victory, setting the stage for the Iron Bowl on Saturady.
Alabama will head to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the matchup against Auburn, hoping to also clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff. It’s also a chance for Kalen DeBoer to get a second victory over the Tigers, who can become bowl-eligible with a win.
6. Oregon (+1)
Following last week’s win over USC, Oregon jumped up a spot in the JP Poll. The Ducks are now at No. 6 heading into this week’s rivalry matchup in Seattle.
Oregon will take on Washington at Husky Stadium to close out the 2025 season. A victory would further improve the Ducks’ chances of making the College Football Playoff, and if they get some help, the Big Ten Championship could be in the cards.

7. Notre Dame (-1)
Despite a historic blowout win over Syracuse, Notre Dame is down a spot in the Week 14 JP Poll. The Fighting Irish check in at No. 7, where they have consistently stayed throughout the year.
Notre Dame took a 21-0 lead against Syracuse before the offense stepped onto the field and the Irish didn’t look back en route to the 70-7 victory. The season finale against Stanford not only presents a rivalry game, but a chance to keep trending toward a College Football Playoff appearance.
8. Ole Miss (-)

Ole Miss was on a bye in Week 13 ahead of this week’s Egg Bowl. As a result, the Rebels held steady at No. 8 in the JP Poll heading into Week 14.
Ole Miss has an opportunity to further cement itself as a College Football Playoff team with a third straight victory over Mississippi State in the rivalry game. From there, Lane Kiffin’s future will again become the hot topic of conversation with the regular season in the books.
9. Texas Tech (+1)
Although Texas Tech was on a bye in Week 13, the Red Raiders moved up one spot in the JP Poll. Joey McGuire’s group now sits at No. 9 heading into this week’s regular-season finale.
Texas Tech will head to Morgantown on Saturday to take on West Virginia. A victory would then send the Red Raiders to the Big 12 Championship as they look for the College Football Playoff’s automatic bid as one of the four highest-ranked conference champions.
10. Texas (+1)
After an impressive showing on offense against Arkansas, Texas is in the Top 10 of the JP Poll. Arch Manning and the Longhorns were impressive in the high-scoring affair to improve to 8-3 on the season.
This week, Manning will get his first taste of the Lone Star Showdown as Texas A&M comes to town. It’s shaping up to be a high-stakes matchup for multiple reasons as the game returns to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.
