An exciting Week 5 of college football saw some big games. As a result, the JP Poll underwent another shakeup with some big-time movement.

Based on The Model, Josh Pate unveiled his latest Top 20 power ratings – remember, they’re not rankings – with even more shuffling. However, the top two teams stayed the same, including one which won a high-profile primetime affair last week.

The calendar is flipping to October, and things about to get even more interesting. Here is the full JP Poll, as unveiled on Josh Pate’s College Football Show.

1. Ohio State (-)

Facing an intriguing matchup at Washington last time out, Ohio State found itself in a close game through the first half. However, the Buckeyes took firm control in the second half thanks to two touchdowns from CJ Donaldson out of the break to get the 24-6 victory.

Julian Sayin was efficient, completing 22 of 28 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the charge. But a breakout candidate was freshman running back Bo Jackson, who took a team-high 17 carries for 80 yards to lead the running game and help Ohio State stay atop the JP Poll.

2. Oregon (-)

In one of the best environments in college football, Oregon jumped out to a two-score lead at one point against Penn State during the White Out game. But the Nittany Lions clawed back and force overtime – and the Ducks held on to get a victory in a classic.

Dante Moore dazzled on the big stage, completing 29 of 39 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns to skyrocket up the On3 Heisman Trophy Poll. The Ducks made quite a statement with the win and held strong as the No. 2 team in the JP Poll ahead of Week 6.

3. Alabama (+1)

Up a spot to No. 3, Alabama also got an important victory in Week 5. The Crimson Tide went into Samford Stadium and stood strong against Georgia to move up one spot in the JP Poll.

Ty Simpson continues to improve in Ryan Grubb’s scheme, going 24 of 38 for 276 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown to his resume. Alabama put up nearly 400 yards of offense against UGA as Kalen DeBoer got his second straight win over the Dawgs.

4. Georgia (-1)

Flipping spots with Alabama, Georgia fell to No. 4 in the JP Poll. The Bulldogs mounted a charge against the Crimson Tide, but came up just short in a 24-21 loss in Athens.

UGA used the running game to lead the charge on offense, totaling 227 yards on the ground – with 119 coming from Chauncey Bowens. Gunner Stockton didn’t put up big numbers with his arm, though, going 13 of 20 for 130 yards and a touchdown in the air.

5. Notre Dame (+3)

After making quite a statement in Week 5, Notre Dame jumped into the Top 5 of the JP Poll. The Fighting Irish now sit at No. 5 after a dominant performance on the road at Arkansas.

CJ Carr and Jeremiyah Love both had huge days for Marcus Freeman’s group to spearhead the offense. Love totaled 127 yards – 57 rushing and 70 receiving – and four touchdowns, including two of Carr’s four passing scores as he threw for 354 yards in the air.

6. Ole Miss (+3)

Ole Miss stayed unbeaten as it took down LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Rebels were in the Top 10 of last week’s JP Poll and are on the doorstep of the Top 5, now at No. 6.

Trinidad Chambliss had a big day as he got the start once again at quarterback, throwing for 314 yards and a touchdown while running for 71 yards, as well. Kewan Lacy led the rushing attack with 78 yards and the Ole Miss defense held LSU to just 256 total yards on the day.

7. Penn State (-2)

Following a White Out loss to Oregon, Penn State dropped two spots to No. 7 in the latest JP Poll. The Nittany Lions mounted a late charge in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

Drew Allar struggled as a passer in the matchup, going 14 of 25 for 137 yards, but throwing for two touchdowns. As a whole, Penn State totaled 276 yards of offense while Oregon put up 424 yards – including 248 passing from Dante Moore.

8. Texas (-2)

Out of a bye week, Texas finds itself moving down two spots to No. 8 in the JP Poll. The reason, Josh Pate said, is because of the other movement during the Longhorns’ bye week.

Texas is now getting ready for an intriguing matchup in Week 6. Arch Manning and Co. will head to The Swamp to take on Florida, which is looking to get back on track as it also comes out of the bye.

9. Miami (-2)

Another team that fell in the JP Poll on its bye, Miami is now No. 9 in the power ratings. The Hurricanes now turn their attention toward yet another in-state showdown in Week 6.

Miami is heading to Tallahassee this week to take on a Florida State team looking to shake off last week’s upset loss at Virginia. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance for the matchup, which will air in primetime on ABC.

10. Oklahoma (-)

With a bye in Week 5, Oklahoma stayed put at No. 10 in the JP Poll. However, the Sooners are preparing to take on a new look at quarterback this time around.

Michael Hawkins is in line to get the start against Kent State as John Mateer works his way back from hand surgery. Hawkins got some run last year in relief of Jackson Arnold and will now get ready to run Ben Arbuckle’s scheme in Mateer’s absence.
