Montvale (N.J.) <a href="https://www.on3.com/high-school/st-joseph-regional-montvale-nj-18734/">St. Joseph Regional</a> three-star running back <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/john-forster-152650/">John Forster</a> has flipped his commitment from <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/rutgers-scarlet-knights/">Rutgers</a> to <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/illinois-fighting-illini/">Illinois</a>.



He had been committed to the in-state Scarlet Knights since June 15, but now joins three-star <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/cedric-wyche-158066/">Cedric Wyche</a> as the second tailback pledged to the Fighting Illini.



Forster is the nation’s No. 558 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the<a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/industry-player/football/2025/"> On3 Industry Ranking</a> — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 47 running back in the class and the No. 17 recruit from the state of New Jersey.



Illinois now has 21 commitments in its 2025 recruiting class. <a href="https://www.on3.com/high-school/mt-zion-mt-zion-il-7876/">Mt. Zion</a> (Ill.) wide receiver <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/brayden-trimble-235828/">Brayden Trimble</a> ranks No. 506 nationally and leads the pack for the Illini.



Saint Louis <a href="https://www.on3.com/high-school/cardinal-ritter-college-prep-saint-louis-mo-6841/">Cardinal Ritter College Prep</a> three-star quarterback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/carson-boyd-18720/">Carson Boyd</a> is the signal-caller in this Illinois class.
