2026 OT Aaron Thomas decommits from Ohio State

Phoenix Mountain Pointe three-star offensive tackle Aaron Thomas has decommitted from Ohio State, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
He was pledged to the Buckeyes since June 25, but is now back on the board with National Signing Day around four weeks away. Florida State has been pushing to flip the 6-foot-5, 290-pounder.
Thomas is the No. 514 overall prospect and No. 39 OT in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 8 recruit in Arizona.
Thomas is a Florida State legacy, as his father, Eric, played in Tallahassee in the late 1990s. The Seminoles have had Thomas on campus this fall will be one to watch moving forward with the trench monster officially uncommitted once again. FSU offered in April.
“They were definitely later than I would’ve liked, but that’s OK,” Thomas told Warchant’s Matt LaSerre after he logged his official visit to Tallahassee. “I’d rather them give me the offer because I earned it and not because of my dad being a former player. I know I earned it. I like them more now than I even did before the visit. They got to know me, and I got to know them. That was really important.”
Texas A&M and Washington were other programs previously in the mix for Thomas’ pledge this summer. Ohio State now has four offensive linemen in its 2026 class. Thomas was one of three tackles in the mix entering November for Ryan Day and Co.

Akron Archbishop Hoban four-star OT Sam Greer remains a headliner for Buckeyes OL coach Tyler Bowen. The 6-foot-7, 320-pounder committed in March and has only seen his stock rise since. Greer is now Rivals’ No. 18 recruit and No. 5 OT in the cycle.
Avon Lake (Ohio) four-star interior offensive lineman Max Riley is the nation’s No. 8 IOL prospect. Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor three-star IOL Tucker Smith and Mentor (Ohio) three-star OT Landry Brede round out the OL pledges for OSU.
There’s talent from top to bottom in the class, but Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. remains the jewel. He’s been pledged since July of 2023 and is now the No. 22 recruit and No. 2 WR overall.
Henry Jr. and Greer are two of eight top-150 overall prospects in the class to date. The Buckeyes’ entire haul can be seen here.
