Asher Elson, a high three-star prospect in the 2026 class, has committed to Xavier.

The 6-foot-11 senior power forward out of Overtime Elite (GA) chose the Musketeers over offers from Auburn, Maryland, and Syracuse.

Elson, a native of Brooklyn, New York,  is the No. 114 overall player in the 2026 class, according to Rivals’ Top-150 Player Rankings. He’s also the No. 18 ranked power forward and the No. 7 player in Georgia.

This summer playing with the New Heights program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, Elson averaged 9.7 points, shooting nearly 37% from three-point land.

Elson on his commitment to Xavier

Asher Elson discussed his decision to choose Xavier with Rivals.

“I chose Xavier because Coach Richard Pitino was super genuine, and he’ll allow me to play through my mistakes. I knew I could trust them when they came to OTE to watch me practice and broke my film down with me.”

He has a message for Xavier fans.

“THE MUSKETEERS ARE GETTING A DOG!

More on Elson

In a previous interview with Rivals, Elson discussed his game.

”I’m a versatile wing, that can guard one through five,” Elson told Rivals. “I feel like I’ve gotten way more aggressive. I got stronger. I improved my shooting.
I was always able to shoot, but I definitely improved my shooting a lot more, and I feel like my playmaking ability has improved. I really look up to Brandon Ingram a lot, and Kevin Durant. You know, not everybody can be KD, you know, so I take I’ll just take a little pieces from both of their game and see how I can add it to min.”
