Top 2026 recruit Jayda Porter commits to Texas A&M

Top 2026 recruit Jayda Porter has committed to Texas A&M, she announced on Sunday evening. The 6-3 post player from Columbia (MO) Rock Bridge chose the Aggies over Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Oregon, North Carolina, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Oklahoma State.
Porter previously talked to Rivals about her experience with Texas A&M.
“They just recently reached out to me,” she previously told Rivals. “But I mean, they came out pretty strong, and I just really appreciated everything they had to tell me about their program, about everything. Honestly, this month they actually reached out to me for the first time. I just think that it just stood out to me so much that it was like a no-brainer that they had to be in my top eight.”
There were several factors Porter was considering when choosing her landing spot.
“I’m honestly looking at the people,” Porter told Rivals. “I know for me, I have to surround myself with people – iron sharpens iron, so I just need to throw myself around good people who will build me up and not tear me down. I’m just really looking at the culture when I go on those visits.”

Texas A&M added a strong post presence in Porter.
“I’m just pretty good at getting position on the block and just being able to post on my defenders and get good position on the moves that I want to make,” she told Rivals.
This marks the second impact commit for Texas A&M in the last week, after the Aggies landed 5-6 point guard Rieyan DeSouze.
