The latest commitment for the Stanford Cardinal in their 2026 recruiting class is 4-star defensive back Lasiah Jackson out of Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia. Below are some thoughts I have on what he’ll bring to The Farm.

Hudl: Lasiah Jackson

Listed at 6’3”, 175 pounds with a 5.8 Rivals rating and a 91 On3 rating, Jackson primarily plays cornerback. He does a great job in one-on-one coverage, knowing how to break up passes and also pick off quarterbacks. He reads wide receivers well and sticks with them during their routes. On top of that, he’s got great instincts and uses his speed to blitz when called upon.

That said, Stanford appears to be recruiting him at the safety spot given his main recruiter is safeties coach Kodi Whitfield. A lot of those skills that make him a good cornerback should make him a good safety as well. He plays with a high IQ and with a lot of aggression, two attributes that every top safety needs to have.

One thing that will be interesting to see is whether or not Jackson stays put at safety or if Stanford will give him a chance to play cornerback. His height is excellent for a cornerback and he certainly appears to have the speed to play the position. Not to mention the comfortability given all the reps he’s had.

As of now, my guess is Jackson stays at safety, but you just never know until guys actually go through a full set of practices and get a chance to play at multiple spots. Given his versatility, it would be huge if he could be an early enrollee in the spring as that would give Stanford more time to tinker with him at different spots.

Regardless of where he ends up playing, one thing that is clear is that Lasiah Jackson is an exciting addition to Stanford’s program. He’s got tremendous physical gifts, instincts, and has all the tools to be an impact player at the next level. It’ll be fun to see how he grows his game during his senior season of high school and what kind of impact he makes when he arrives on The Farm.
