One of the incoming transfers that is joining the Stanford Cardinal this summer is wide receiver David Pantelis. Pantelis is coming to Stanford after completing his degree from Yale, making him a graduate transfer. Below are some thoughts on what he’ll bring to the program.

VIDEO: David Pantelis Yale Highlights

For his career, Pantelis has 119 receptions for 1,652 yards, and 14 touchdowns. He was a very productive receiver during his time in New Haven. As a senior, he had his best season ever, totaling 61 receptions for 901 yards and eight touchdowns.

Listed at 5’11”, 200 pounds, Pantelis projects to be a slot receiver for the Cardinal. He’s got good speed and an excellent nose for the ball. He can make catches in traffic and just seems to know where the ball is at all times as if it’s a sixth sense. He’s also tough and knows how to take a hit.

On top of his ball skills, Pantelis has a high IQ and has played a lot of football. He should bring a veteran presence to the Cardinal wide receiver room and be somebody who can be counted on to make smart decisions when he’s out on the field. A guy who knows how to make the right play.

Overall, David Pantelis is a nice piece to add to Stanford’s already deep wide receiver room. He’s smart, tough, experienced, and plays the game the right way. He not only adds depth, but also should be in line for a good deal of snaps. It’ll be interesting to see how he gets utilized by head coach Frank Reich and what kind of impact he makes.
