Two Arkansas players tabbed preseason All-SEC, Hogs picked to finish fifth

Arkansas Razorbacks Men’s Basketball forward Karter Knox and guard DJ Wagner were selected preseason Third-Team All-SEC by the SEC media on Monday.

Knox, who went on a tear to finish last season, averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 36 games, 24 of those being starts. He was the ninth player in program history to reach 300+ points, 100+ rebounds, 30+ assists, 20+ steals and 10+ blocks as a freshman.

Wagner came with head coach John Calipari from Kentucky and was the only Razorback player to start all 36 games in 2024-2025 while averaging 11.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game and shot 40.1% from the field. He led the team with 131 total assists.

Hogs picked to finish fifth in league

Arkansas also found out that it was picked to finish fifth in the SEC behind defending national champion behind Florida, then Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama in that order.

The Hogs will play two exhibitions prior to the season opener on Nov. 3 versus Southern. First, the Razorbacks will host Cincinnati on Oct. 24 (Friday) dubbed the CareSource Invitational – Fayetteville, Supporting Mental Health. Tickets are available at Razorback Ticket Center. Three days later (Oct. 27), Arkansas travels to Memphis to play in the Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
