2023 kicker Conor Talty officially signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday.

Talty, who committed to Bama back on July 20, 2022, just sent in his Letter of Intent to the program. This is a significant addition for Nick Saban‘s program given the departure of Will Reichard.

According to Chris Sailer Kicking, Talty is a six-star prospect. This designation is given to players who are seen as an FBS Power 5 freshman year starter. He’s listed on his profile as a 6-foot-1, 195-pound recruit from an evaluation in July.

Talty spoke with BamaInsider’s Andrew Bone earlier this month about replacing Reichard at Alabama.

“I want to be as prepared as possible,” Talty previously told BamaInsider. “I want to earn the starting role. I know after signing day Alabama will send me a manual of everything I need to do even though I won’t be there early. I am looking forward to that. I’ll also get on a nutrition plan. I still have coaches and tools here to help excel my kicking game.

“I think from a skills perspective I want to improve my ball flight. I want to eliminate movement in the air. You have to hit the ball perfect like you are shooting on to a string. You want as little movement as possible in the air. It’s hard to do, but I’ll have the off-season to work on it.”

Although he wanted to enroll in January, Talty’s school does not allow early graduations. Talty completed 17-of-22 field goal attempts during his senior season, including a 51-yarder.
