Justin Jefferson arrived in Tuscaloosa on Monday, but made things official with the Alabama Crimson Tide today.

Moments ago, the coveted junior college linebacker signed his Letter of Intent to play at Alabama. This comes two days after making his way out to T-Town to begin bowl practice with the football team.

Jefferson is a massive addition for an Alabama program that needed to reload at the inside linebacker position. Per On3’s JuCo rankings, Jefferson is the No. 2 overall junior college player in the country, behind fellow Bama signee Malik Benson.

Jefferson more than lived up to his high ranking this past season. In nine games with Pearl River Community College, Jefferson racked up 86 total tackles, 31 of which were solo tackles. He also recorded two sacks, one fumble recovery, and an interception in his 2022 campaign.

As is the case with Benson and others beginning bowl prep, Jefferson will officially enroll at Alabama next month.

Why Jefferson chose Alabama (Full Story HERE): “I’m beyond blessed and beyond thankful. It’s the best [at Alabama]. They have the best facilities. They have the best players. Have the best coaches. I’ve been in situations where I’m the best, so I want to go where the best go to continue to grow not only on the field, but as a person. I want to learn from people who have had the status, the money, all of that. I want to learn from the best coach ever, Coach Saban. Teach me how to be a man.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power’s analysis of Jefferson (Full Story HERE): “Explosive, productive junior college linebacker with scheme versatility. Often played on the edge as a freshman, but projects as an off-ball linebacker at the next level. Shows high-level burst and closing speed when playing in space. Processes and reacts quickly. Looks to have outstanding top-end play speed.”

“Physical in taking on blocks with the ability to stack and shed. Plays with an edge as a finisher. Has experience as a pass rusher that adds to his overall skill set. Played well against top competition in one of the better junior college conferences. Was a first-team all-state linebacker as a high school senior, while playing in Tennessee’s highest classification. Can continue to finetune his tackling technique.”
