The Alabama Crimson Tide have seen several recruits leave their 2024 and 2025 classes since the retirement of head coach Nick Saban.

Over the past six days, a trio of high school prospects previously committed to Bama have announced that their recruiting processes are now open. Class of 2024 pledge Ryan Williams reopened his recruitment last Wednesday. Five-star junior Jaime Ffrench decommitted from the Crimson Tide on Sunday.

On Tuesday, multiple 2025 commitments backed off their pledge to Alabama. Cocoa (Fla.) EDGE Javion Hilson and Evans (Ga.) offensive lineman Mason Short departed from Bama’s class on Tuesday. Hilson ended up flipping his commitment from the Crimson Tide to in-state Florida State.

Williams has gone on record stating that he’s going to continue considering Alabama under the leadership of new head coach Kalen DeBoer. The Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver is expected to be on campus for his official visit this upcoming weekend. He spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons about DeBoer and his track record this past weekend HERE.

There will continue to be plenty of time for DeBoer and his new staff to continue recruiting any of Bama’s decommitments, if they so choose to.

The Early Signing Period for the 2025 cycle is not until December. There will be a few junior days at Alabama in the coming weeks, and official visit opportunities throughout the summer and fall. So, while there are some departures now, there will be ample time for DeBoer’s program to extend new offers, build relationships, and get the 2025 class back on track.

At this time, Bama’s 2024 class checks in at No. 2 in the On3 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Their current 2025 group is No. 8 in the rankings.
