On300 EDGE commits to the Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide have once again successfully dipped into the state of Missouri to land a coveted four-star recruit on the defensive side of the ball.
On Monday, Nick Saban‘s staff earned a commitment from Kansas City (Mo.) Liberty North EDGE Jayshawn Ross. Ross committed to Bama after an unofficial visit to the school over weekend, which marked his second trip to the school in as many months. The addition of Ross comes a recruiting cycle after Alabama signed fellow Kansas City product Edric Hill.

Ross, who checks in at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, chose the Crimson Tide over Kansas State and Ole Miss.
Ross collected an offer from Alabama back on Oct. 20. He quickly set up an official visit with Bama, and was in town for his multi-day trip the weekend of the LSU game (Nov. 4). Since the start of November, Ross has taken no other reported visits other than these two to Tuscaloosa.
According to the On300, Jayshawn Ross is the No. 20 EDGE in the Class of 2024. He is also the No. 189 overall prospect in his class, and the sixth-ranked senior in the state of Missouri.
Per MaxPreps, Ross recorded 23 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and eight sacks for Liberty North in 10 games played. He also caused a fumble, blocked three punts, and blocked a field goal. On the offensive side of the ball, Ross had 14 receptions for 254 yards (18.1 yards per catch) and four touchdowns.
Ross joins an Alabama class that now holds commitments from 22 prospects. Over a dozen of them will be in Tuscaloosa for bowl prep ahead of Bama’s College Football Playoff matchup with Michigan on Jan. 1.
