Fort Myers (Fla.) 4-star defensive lineman Kendall Guervil has stated for most of that year that he planned to announce his college commitment in December. However, as he went through offical visits this summer, Guervil has decided to move up his decision date to July 2.

Kendall Guervil will have three finalists he will pick from

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the three finalists for Kendall Guervil on that date are Florida, Florida State, and Texas. Those three programs all hosted Guervil on official visits this summer, but Georgia was another offical visit destination. He’s spoken highly of the Bulldogs in the past, and even named them his leader earlier in the year.

Georgia’s previous lead for Kendall Guervil slipped at the end of the spring following an unofficial visit to Texas. The Longhorns moved to the top and were still the team to beat as he finished this run of summer trips. With the comitment date moving up, and falling after spending the weekend in Austin, it’s Texas that has been trending on the RPM.

“Coach Baker is a great coach and he has been recruiting me as hard as anyone,” Guervil told On3’s Chad Simmons. “He came down to see me twice in the spring, and I really like the way he coaches. Texas has done a lot of things right with me. I like how they recruit me, their defense is top-notch notch and they can develop players. I like a lot about Texas.”

Florida has treated Guervil like a priority

Kendall Guervil has been a top target at defensive tackle for the Florida Gators in the 2026 cycle. He was offered as an underclassman and has been to campus numerous times. We view the Gators as sitting behind Texas on Guervil’s list.

“Overall, it’s a great school,” Guervil previously said of Florida. “I had a great time catching up with everyone. (The highlight) was definitely being able to spend time with the players. And having the photoshoot with my parents.”

Florida head coach Billy Napier and defensive line coach Gerald Chatman have been the main contacts for Guervil in Gainesville. With both showing the amount of interest they have, we expect Florida to continue to chip away at Guervil if he does end up at Texas like the RPM suggests.

“I am really tight with Coach Chatman and Coach Napier. It is a family vibe at Florida, and they are already treating me like part of the family.”

The On3 Industry, a weighted average of the four major recruiting services, ranks Kendall Guervil as the nation’s No. 134 overall player.
