The Florida Gators have lost a commitment from the 2025 class.

Four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph of Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County backed off his pledge on Thursday — just one week after saying he was solid.

Joseph, the No. 12 IOL in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings, said last Tuesday that Florida, Florida State, LSU and Texas A&M definitely will get officials and both Ole Miss and Southern California possibly could land one, too.

it is unclear if Florida still will get an official.

The Gators now are down to four commitments for 2025 and have the No. 19 class ranking. The de-commitment of Joseph leaves Florida with only two 4-stars on the commitment list.

Florida still has one offensive lineman committed — 3-star tackle Enoch Wangoy.

Joseph committed to Florida on Feb. 18 over Georgia Tech.

From the aforementioned schools, Joseph told Gators Online last week that FSU and LSU were pushing Florida the most. He visited FSU earlier this month.

“I was there the whole week, chilling with (offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson) — my cousin,” Joseph said. “The visit was good. It was a calm visit. I was just talking to the coaches and learning about the system and what’s going on around the school. They’re still recruiting me even though I’m committed to Florida. Mostly, they say they want to see me keep improving. They like the way I’ve grown from past adversity and grown into a man.”

Joesph said he had good chats with FSU coach Mike Norvell and offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

“Coach Atkins is one of them guys that basically keeps it real with you — he’s one of the realest coaches I know,” Joesph said. “Him and Coach Norvell are both the same.”

At the same time, Joseph maintained he was solid to the Gators.

“I’m locked in with Florida right now,” Joseph said. “It’s the opportunity. You’ve got the No. 1 public institution and I’m big on getting a degree. And they’ll develop you as a player. It feels like Florida is one of those schools that can develop you all the way to the league.”
