Milton (Fla.) Pace EDGE Tylon Lee returned to Gainesville on Saturday for a second look at the Gators’ program.

The in-state defender was offered by Florida last August and has since transformed into a top target for outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson. The bond is strengthening week by week.

Lee, 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, spoke with Gators Online on Saturday about his latest experience at the Swamp, takeaways from practice, where Florida sits on his list, and more.

One-on-one with Tylon Lee

You have not been in Gainesville for almost a year. How was your experience today?
“It was great. I loved the feel of practice and everything. They have high motors and were getting around. I was just blessed to get back. I want to come back in the summer to get more of a feel for it. Also, I like what they have going on and what they are working on.”

The Gators have been trending up in your recruitment for a while. What makes them a strong option?
“The support they have is really my top key in everything. The coaches, like coach Mike P., I have a good relationship with him. Everything he has with his players and what he’s building is outstanding.”

Talk about what you saw from the EDGE players at practice. What caught your attention there?
“I saw them getting after it and just sacking all day, every day. You can’t get better than that.”

What was the message from coach Peterson today?
“Just to keep working hard and get better at the little things. The little things matter, so just work on that.”

Billy Napier takes a personal approach when hosting recruits. Did you spent time with him too?
“He said just to keep working hard as well and keep pushing. Also, that I’m a great player and keep attacking.”

Official visits, do you have any scheduled right now?
“Miami (in June).”

Do you plan on taking one to Florida?
“Yes sir, but I don’t know which date yet.”

With that said, where does Florida currently sit on your list after another strong experience?
“Florida is third on my list.”

Which additional schools are at the top?
“Miami, Mississippi State and Kansas.”

On a 1-10 scale, what would you rate today’s visit in Gainesville?
“It was a 10 all the way.”
