Chancellor Campbell, a 3-star Florida Gators offensive tackle target from St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood, revealed his final five Friday. Not surprisingly, UF made the cut.

Campbell told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Ohio State and Penn State are his finalists. The 6-foot-8, 305-pound Campbell is the No. 33 tackle in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings.

He will officially visit Florida on June 6. Other known officials are scheduled for Ohio State (June 13) and Penn State (June 20). At this time, the Gators are heavily favored to land Campbell. In fact, multiple On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine picks have been made for UF. Both Blake Alderman and Corey Bender of Gators Online have Campbell going to Florida in their mock recruiting classes.

Wrote Alderman recently of Campbell: “He may not have the star power compared to other names on UF’s board, but his frame and athleticism give him tremendous upside. He’s made strides ahead of his senior year and has moved up UF’s board this year.”

Meanwhile, Bender noted, “At 6-foot-8, 290 pounds without much bad weight attached to his frame, Campbell likely has the highest ceiling among Florida’s offensive line targets. That makes him a perfect fit for Rob Sale and Jonathan Decoster, as they have a strong track record for development. Jake Slaughter and Bryce Lovett, a pair of former 3-star prospects just like Campbell, are perfect examples. Campbell has said Florida’s ability to manufacture top offensive linemen is a major appeal to him. There are more polished offensive linemen out there, but Campbell could very well produce the biggest return on an investment. He is exactly what a left tackle with a prototypical frame should look like.”

Campbell has visited Florida far more than any other school. He most recently was on campus in Gainesville this spring.

“I pretty much talk with (offensive line coaches) (Rob) Sale and (Jonathan) Decoster probably every day or every 2-3 days. They seem really interested in me and they really, really want me; I can tell by that,” Campbell said recently. “They think I can be a really good player them. I think they see some type of development or upside I have that other players don’t. They said I have a good build and frame.”
