PHOTOS: Georgia back in action as Bulldogs suit up in full pads
ATHENS, Ga. — It’s week two of Georgia spring practice, and the Bulldogs took the field in full pads. Thursday’s session will be the fifth, but below we’ve got pictures from Tuesday’s practice courtesy of UGA Sports Communication’s Tony Walsh.
Georgia Running Backs
Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton are gone. That opens the door for some new faces in the running back room including Florida transfer Trevor Etienne. Meanwhile, Roderick Robinson and Andrew Paul should have an opportunity to take some carries as well and lighten the load for the Bulldogs.
UGA Pass Rushers/Defensive Linemen
There’s a lot of excitement for Georgia’s front seven this spring with tons of talent. Above are a trio of former five-stars: Mykel Williams, Jordan Hall and Damon Wilson. Williams is expected to take more snaps at outside linebacker where Wilson is also being looked to as a player taking a step up. Meanwhile, Hall has an opportunity to provide important depth on the defensive line.
Dillon Bell and Arian Smith
Dillon Bell put together a strong finish to the 2023 season, one in which he played several different roles. In 2024, he should have an opportunity to settle in to one and make a name for himself. Meanwhile, Arian Smith has been through some struggles but is putting together a spring in which he’s potentially living up to expectations.
Misc. Photos of the Dawgs
Last year, it was a quarterback competition that was the biggest headline of spring practice. This year, the signal callers have experience with their starter Carson Beck while the backups Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi are getting their fair share of reps.
Above: The Bulldog defense has several new faces stepping into larger roles. Safety JaCorey Thomas (top) and linebacker CJ Allen (bottom) certainly fit that mold with Allen likely to start at linebacker and Thomas in the thick of things.
Below: Georgia’s offensive line has four players returning with starting experience, and Florida transfer Trevor Etienne will get an opportunity to run behind them.
