After winning a pair of National Championships at Georgia, Trezmen Marshall is headed to the SEC West. The Clinch County High School product has announced that he is transferring to Alabama. Marshall entered the transfer portal a little less than a week ago.

Marshall served as Georgia’s No. 3 inside linebacker in 2022, tallying 19 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He had four tackles for loss against the seven ranked teams Georgia played in 2022 and that includes one in the National Championship game.

The former four-star prospect has battled injuries throughout his career. He played 14 games as a true freshman in 2019 but missed most of both the 2020 and 2021 seasons with shoulder and knee injuries, respectively. He has two years to play two.

“I want to first thank my Heavenly Father for all the blessings He has bestowed upon me. Without him, I am nothing.

“Secondly, I would like to thank my support system for being there for me throughout everything.

“Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Smart, his staff, and the entire University of Georgia for supporting me these last three years. It has been an incredibly experience and I am thankful for the lifelong memories and the brotherhood I have been a part of during my time at UGA.

“With that said, I am announced my (transfer) to the University of Alabama.

“Sincerely, Trezmen Marshall”

Marshall is due a break…

The Deep South Georgia native has been dealing with injuries since high school. He suffered a shoulder injury at Clinch County and had surgery soon after enrolling at Georgia in January of 2019.

He put that injury behind him quickly, seeing action on special teams and as a reserve linebacker. Sources told DawgsHQ that Marshall grew exponentially the following offseason before being sidelined with a shoulder injury. His 2020 season ended before it ever got started.

Marshall came back to play in just four games in 2021 after suffering an impact injury to his knee that required surgery. That nagged him into spring drills but he rebounded to turn in a strong preseason camp, earning a spot in the inside linebacker rotation.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson and Smael Mondon earned the starting jobs but Marshall was the next man up. He fought soreness and stiffness in that same knee during the middle portion of the season but recovered to tally 3.5 tackles for loss in Georgia’s final seven games.

As a prospect…

Alabama and a host of other programs recruited Marshall heavily as a prospect. Clemson, Florida, and Florida State were also involved.

He was the nation’s No. 140 overall prospect and No. 18 linebacker per the industry-generated, equally-weighted On3 Consensus. He was also the No. 16 overall prospect in the Peach State.
