Kentucky is a finalist for one of the biggest stock risers in the class of 2026 — and it comes immediately before the Wildcats are scheduled to host the four-star small forward in Lexington.

Maximo Adams, ranked No. 29 overall (and climbing), is down to 11 schools. UK is included in a group that also features a number of blue bloods, he tells Joe Tipton of On3 and Rivals, Mark Pope’s program joined by Arizona StateDukeIllinoisKansasMichigan StateNorth CarolinaPurdueTexasUSC and Washington.

Adams is scheduled to take an official visit to Kentucky this weekend from Sept. 5-6, in town for the football game against Ole Miss.

His full visit list, joining the previous official he took to USC:

  • Kentucky: September 5–6
  • Michigan State: September 11–12
  • Kansas: September 19–21
  • Texas: September 27–28
  • North Carolina: October 31–November 1
  • Duke: November 8–9

“It means a lot to get an offer from Kentucky,” the 6-7 wing out of California told KSR+ after adding an offer in July. “Especially coming from Coach [Mark] Pope, who’s a great coach and runs a great program.”

Adams’ older brother, Marcus Adams, played for Pope at BYU during the 2023-24 season. Adams averaged 2.0 points per game during the 2023-24 season before transferring to Cal State Northridge.

“I think it’s a great program,” Adams continued. “Mark Pope came from BYU, and my brother went to BYU. Then, he transitioned to Kentucky, and he’s a great coach.”

Adams will be joined by five-star guard and consensus top-10 prospect Caleb Holt in Lexington this weekend. The latter already took an official visit to Ole Miss in the spring and recently visited Arkansas last weekend (Aug. 29-30).
