LSU has landed a commitment from Louisiana cornerback Jaboree Antoine, who is ranked by On3 as the No. 3 cornerback in the 2025 class.

Antoine committed to LSU on Saturday during the program’s “Cajun Bash” recruiting weekend, which brought more than 20 prospects to campus for an invitation-only event for underclassmen.

“I wanted to stay home and bring DBU back,” Antoine told On3. “I know I’ll be developed for the next level and I know LSU will provide that for me.”

Antoine is ranked by On3 as the No. 3 cornerback prospect in the 2025 cycle and a Top 20 prospect nationally, checking in just behind five-star running back Harlem Berry as the second-highest ranked prospect in Louisiana.

The New Iberia (La.) native Westgate product gives LSU and new secondary coach Corey Raymond a huge piece to the puzzle when it comes to rebuilding the cornerbacks room in Baton Rouge.

With the groundwork laid by the LSU staff across the past year-plus, and the hiring of a fellow New Iberia native in Raymond, the pieces had come together for Antoine as he elected to shut down his recruiting process following back-to-back weekend visits at Texas and LSU.

“He had a lot (of impact),” Antoine said. “Him coming back to LSU is a big thing for me. No other place like LSU, and Corey Raymond in the picture was the icing on the cake.”

With development at the top of his mind, Antoine views LSU’s history with defensive backs as a big piece to his decision.

“Development is a top priority going into my decision, and Corey Raymond is a household name for development,” Antoine said. “The biggest thing in my recruiting process is development, really. I want to be developed and trained by the best.”

LSU won out over a group of top eight teams that included both LSU and Texas, as well as Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami and Michigan.

LSU strengthens grip on No. 1 recruiting class

Antoine’s verbal pledge to the Tigers adds another impressive piece to LSU’s 2025 class, which ranks No. 1 on the On3 Team Recruiting Industry Rankings.

Antoine is ranked by On3 as the No. 2 prospect in Louisiana, the No. 3 cornerback in the class and the No. 19 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. On the On3 Industry Rankings, Antoine checks in as the No. 2 prospect in Louisiana, the No. 7 cornerback in the class and the No. 45 overall prospect for the 2025 cycle.

With nine total commitments, the group is headlined at the top by a trio of 5-stars and No. 1 overall prospects at their respective positions in quarterback Bryce Underwood, running back Harlem Berry and wide receiver Dakorien Moore.

Only two other college programs have a 2025 5-star prospect committed (Ohio State 1, Georgia 1).

LSU has also stacked up Louisiana four-star recruits, including University High four-star linebacker Keylan Moses. The staff has also reeled in Louisiana’s top-ranked tight end in JD LaFleur, top-ranked interior offensive lineman in Brett Bordelon and top-ranked wide receiver TaRon Francis. Loganville (Ga.) Grayson three-star cornerback Jaylen Bell rounds out the commitment list.
