2024 LSU commit and Zachary (La.) tight end Trey’Dez Green made a huge move up in the latest On3 rankings as he’s off to a massive start to his senior season.

Green moved up from the No. 126 overall prospect in the country to the No. 39 overall prospect. The eighth-ranked tight end is now the No. 3 tight end. On3 director of scouting Charles Power said the big start left the staff no choice but to move him up.

“It’s really early into his senior season, but based on a sliver of actually getting to see Trey’Dez Green, I think people should be very excited about what he’s shown early on at Zachary,” Power said. “It’s really clear he’s spent time in the weight room this offseason. He looks different physically and is moving as well as we’ve ever seen him move on a football field before.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he’s now the No. 53 overall prospect and No. 4 tight end in America. He’s also No. 2 in the Louisiana rankings.

He had a double-digit offer list that included programs like Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Miami and more. Green pledged to the Tigers over the summer in a ceremony at East Feliciana High, where he attended before transferring to Zachary.

Trey’Dez Green stays home in Louisiana

After revealing the Tigers as his pick in July, Green said the chance to both play at LSU and stay home in Louisiana made it an easy decision.

“LSU being home and what it is, then they care about my academics also, that pushed me to (pick LSU),” Green told On3. “I get to stay home and play in front of my people and community. It’s not too far away. I love my community. Louisiana means a lot. To play in front of them is going to be great.”

He saw a jump from 350 receiving yards and no touchdowns as a sophomore to 864 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. Now he’s off to a big start for Zachary and looking to cap his high school career with a state championship. He’s also worked to get ready for college in January.

“I’m a tight end at the next level, and they see me being able to catch a lot of passes,” Green said of LSU. “Coach Denbrock is the tight ends coach and offensive coordinator, so a lot of passes will get thrown to the tight ends. It’s really been working on route running. I have speed, so if I can get down my footwork and route running, I can be unstoppable.”
