WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
We of course had the big transfer visit weekend, so don’t miss our coverage off that. Oregon State RB Damien Martinez was a big commitment. We have the inside story on that plus analysis of Martinez as well. LB Jaylin Alderman was commit No. 2 from the weekend, and don’t miss what he was saying, and the same goes for commit No. 3, CB D’yoni Hill. Last night a fourth commitment off the weekend was announced, from Houston WR Sam Brown. Don’t miss that news, either.
There also was the news we broke that Texas A&M center Bryce Foster is a transfer target to monitor and we also spoke with DII DT Jay’viar Suggs, who had a conversation with Jason Taylor and could be an option depending on how visits go today with the two Michigan State DT visitors.
There was the NFL Draft, too, and we had you covered on that as well, although it wasn’t a great result for UM with Kam Kinchens going late in the 3rd round and then no other Cane taken till the final round when Jaden Davis, Matt Lee and James Williams went.
Also don’t miss the news of the basketball team adding another transfer portal talent, Stetson G Jalen Blackmon.
Plus there’s the continuation of our post-spring position by position analysis series, and we break down the DL, LB and DB spots.
In recruiting?
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star safety Jireh Edwards is down to 10 schools after recently announcing his top programs, and the Miami Hurricanes are among that final group. His thoughts?
On Wednesday morning of this past week, the Miami Hurricanes dipped into West Virginia and became the first Power Four program to offer rising Huntington Prep (W. Va.) 2026 wide receiver Tayveon Wilson. He weighs in.
Miami secondary coach Chevis Jackson handed out an early offer to Jenks (Okla.) 2027 safety Semaj Stanford April 22 following a stop by the high school freshman’s school, and the 5-foot-10, 165-pound safety already has plenty of interest in the Hurricanes.
Miami’s prioritization of Louisville (Kent.) Louisville Male School three-star interior offensive lineman Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr. has been clear since offering him in early January, and on Wednesday offensive line coach Alex Mirabal had his first chance to watch the 6-foot-2, 290-pound prospect work out in person.
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng is one of the most sought-after defenders in the 2025 class, and the coveted linebacker has recently trimmed his list of over 42 offers to 13 schools, which included the Miami Hurricanes. Find out what he’s saying.
There’s also your recaps of the weekend baseball series at Georgia Tech, with UM losing two of three, to check out.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Its a crap shoot out there … Posted by sabrose
Dumping a bunch of young guys and hoping film evaluation on portal players will accurate. They aren’t going to get any detailed info from the coaches that coached these guys currently. Instead they are forced to make quick evaluations based on spring and hope your evaluations are spot on. You may have a player here for a year better than the sophomore you let go but what about next year when that sophomore developed more? A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush is the old saying. 80 percent of the portal are guys being let go. You better hope your players are coming from the other 20 percent.
