2026 offensive lineman Dylan Steen breaks down Mississippi State decision

2026 offensive lineman Dylan Steen got a great look at his future this weekend. The St. Thomas (Fla.) Aquinas High School product officially visited Mississippi State and while on campus, he committed to head coach Jeff Lebby before publicly announced his choice on Monday evening.
A big part of Steen’s decision revolved around his desire to develop in the SEC and like most players, reach the NFL. And he believes Lebby and offensive line coach Phil Loadholt can help him reach those goals.
“Coach Lebby and Coach Loadholt were both telling me how they want me to be at Mississippi State,” noted Steen. “Coach Loadholt is going to help me develop and he is already doing that. I committed while I was there and it was really about the coaches. Plus, playing in the SEC is great. I want to reach the NFL and this is a place that can help me get there.”
Steen also holds Power 4 offers from Ole Miss South Carolina, Texas Tech and Baylor. Regarding his official visit, Steen said just being around his future coaches and teammates provided a lot of enjoyment.
“It was all good and I enjoyed it,” Steen recalled. “Getting to see the coaches again was a lot of fun. Just being around all of the guys made for a great weekend.”
But his top highlight was just talking football with Loadholt. During his time on campus, he was able to see the pros and cons of his game through film study.
“The best part was breaking down my film with Coach Loadholt,” added the 6-foot-4 and 275-pound Steen. “He was breaking down what I did good and what I did bad. It was good to get that football part down and talk with Coach Loadholt. He likes me at guard so that is good, too.”
And from a players’ perspective, Steen was able to talk more football and off-the-field life with a pair of offensive linemen. One was a familiar person, too, with his brother Blake Steen, who recently transferred from Virginia to Mississippi State.

“I was with Jimothy Lewis and my brother Blake,” explained Steen. “It was good and they took me around the spots to be in Starkville. We went back to their apartments and had a good time.”
Of course, the weekend wasn’t all about football. Steen was able to improve his techniques in the kitchen, as well.
“I did learn more of how to cook,” Steen remarked. “We learned how to cook fried rice. I already made it before but I made a mistake. They taught me how to do it right so me and some of the defensive linemen got it right this time.”
And yes, being able to reunite with his brother is also going to be a great benefit for Steen. Naturally, they have their brotherly feuds but being teammates again puts a smile on Steen’s face.
“It’s going to be awesome playing with my brother,” mentioned Steen. “He might get on my nerves sometimes but it is going to be awesome. It is something I never envisioned a year ago but now it is real.”
