Mississippi State cornerback Luke Evans reports plans to enter transfer portal
The spring transfer portal window does not officially open until Tuesday. But for the second time this spring Mississippi State has a player announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
On Monday evening redshirt freshman cornerback Luke Evans announced on his Twitter page that he plans to enter the transfer portal. James is a 2023 Mississippi State signee and he did not play in any games this past season. Freshman defensive lineman Caleb Bryant also announced his intentions to transfer earlier this month.
Evans played his prep career at Chaminade Madonna (Fla.) College Prep and was rated as a three-star prospect by On3. In that Class of 2023, James was rated as the nation’s No. 51 cornerback and the state’s No. 68 prospect by On3 rankings.
Bulldogs on the offensive side of the ball that have entered the transfer portal include receiver Zavion Thomas, offensive lineman Percy Lewis, running back Jo’quavious Marks, senior offensive lineman Steven Losoya, senior tight end Ryland Goede, senior quarterback Will Rogers, junior receiver Jacoby Bellazar, freshman receiver Nakai Poole and sophomore running back Simeon Price.
Other State defensive players thus far to enter the transfer portal include freshman defensive lineman Jonathan Davis and Caleb Bryant, junior cornerback Decamerion Richardson, junior cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson and freshman safety Will James.
