Mississippi State safety Trent Singleton enters the transfer portal
The spring transfer portal windown officially opened on Tuesday and there’s already been plenty of activity for Mississippi State. On Tuesday, redshirt sophomore safety Trent Singleton announced via his Twitter page that he is officially in the transfer portal.
Singleton becomes the third Bulldog to enter the transfer portal this spring, joining redshirt freshman defensive lineman Caleb Bryant and redshirt freshman cornerback Luke Evans.
Singleton played his prep career at Raymond High School and was a Class of 2022 signee. In that Class of 2022, Singleton was rated as the nation’s No. 22 athlete and the state’s No. 22 prospect by On3 rankings.
Singleton redshirted in the 2022 season and did not see any game action during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2023.
Bulldogs on the offensive side of the ball that have entered the transfer portal include receiver Zavion Thomas, offensive lineman Percy Lewis, running back Jo’quavious Marks, senior offensive lineman Steven Losoya, senior tight end Ryland Goede, senior quarterback Will Rogers, junior receiver Jacoby Bellazar, freshman receiver Nakai Poole and sophomore running back Simeon Price.
Other State defensive players thus far to enter the transfer portal include freshman defensive lineman Jonathan Davis and Caleb Bryant, redshirt freshman cornerback Luke Evans, junior cornerback Decamerion Richardson, junior cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson and freshman safety Will James.
