After two years at Mississippi State, Justin Robinson is on the move for the second time in his career.

The former Georgia Bulldog traded in the red and black for maroon and white back in 2022 but now he’s looking for a new home. Robinson entered the transfer portal on Thursday after it officially opened for business for the spring.

Robinson was productive on the outside for State in his two seasons. He had 51 catches for 583 yards during his time with three touchdowns. All three of those scores came during his sophomore season when he had 30 catches for 326 yards and three scores in Mike Leach’s Air Raid system.

His career performance came in State’s ReliaQuest Bowl win over Illinois when he caught seven passes for 81 yards and a score. That day earned Robinson the MVP honors of the game and had him set up for a big year in 2023.

Unfortunately for Robinson and MSU, the offense struggled in its one year with offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay and head coach Zach Arnett. His numbers dipped to just 21 catches for 257 yards and Robinson wasn’t able to catch a touchdown while he also dealt with an injury that kept him from playing in three games.

Robinson was a four-star wide receiver out of Eagles Landing High School in Georgia and signed with the homestate Bulldogs of UGA. After redshirting his first year on campus, Robinson caught two passes for 18 yards and dealt with an injury that kept him out of four games that year.

Robinson was expected to compete for a starting outside receiver spot in Jeff Lebby’s first offense in Starkville, but he will now be moving on to the next stage. Robinson joins redshirt freshman cornerback Luke Evans as a spring portal entrant so far as Evans announced his intentions to enter on Monday.
