On Saturday, the Notre Dame men’s basketball program added the son of one of the NBA’s top executives to its 2024 commit list. Brady Stevens, the son of Boston Celtics president of basketball operations, Brad Stevens, verbally committed to the Fighting Irish as a walk-on.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Brady attends Wellesley (Mass.) High. The younger Stevens is a three-point sharpshooter and can play both guard positions. He also plays for the Middlesex Magic, a part of the Boys Under Armour Association.

The elder Stevens holds a prior connection to current Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry. The 47-year-old Shrewesberry was an assistant coach at Butler University from 2007-11, Brad’s first four years as head coach for the Bulldogs. Shrewsberry also coached with Stevens when he was the Celtics’ head coach from 2013–2019.

Brady’s addition gives Shrewesberry’s program three sons of NBA executives on his future squad. Freshman Carey Booth’s father, Calvin Booth, is the general manager for the Denver Nuggets. 2024 small forward commit Sir Mohammaed is the son of Oklahoma City Blue — the G-League affiliate of the Thunder — general manager Nazr Mohammed.

Notre Dame’s 2024 class, Shrewesberry’s first full cycle as head coach, currently ranks No. 26 in the 2024 Industry Ranking Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. In addition to Brady and Sir, the Irish hold verbal commitments from three-star power forward Garrett Sundra and three-star shooting guard Cole Certa
