Notre Dame men’s basketball announced its third transfer portal addition Wednesday. 6-foot-7 sophomore forward Tae Davis, formerly of Seton Hall, is officially signed to join the Fighting Irish.

“Tae will be a great fit here at Notre Dame, on and off the court,” Irish coach Micah Shrewsberry said in a press release. “He is a great kid who comes from a basketball family. His versatility and basketball IQ will allow us to use him in a lot of different ways offensively and defensively.”

Davis is from Indianapolis Warren Central, making him the fourth in-state player on Shrewsberry’s team.

According to the On3 industry ranking, Davis was the No. 157 player and No. 39 small forward in the country, as well as the No. 5 player in Indiana. Ranked just ahead of him on that last list was Kebba Njie, who joined Shrewsberry at Penn State before following him to Notre Dame after he took the job.

Davis averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game in his lone season at Seton Hall.

“For me, it’s all about competing,” Davis said, via the release. “No matter who you are, you’re going to get a chance. Whatever they need me to do, they’re going to get. I will work for everything.”
