One of Notre Dame football’s top recruiting targets in the 2025 class made a major cut to his recruitment on Friday night. Four-star offensive tackle Jack Lange is down to six schools: Notre Dame, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-8, 275-pounder from Eureka (Mo.) High reported 25 “Core Four” (ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12) offers before narrowing down his list. A few key omissions from it were Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State and Kentucky — all schools he has visited.

Penn State, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Southern California, Texas A&M and Florida all offered him following his junior campaign. However, those schools did not make the cut either.

The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Lange the No. 180 overall player, No. 14 offensive tackle and No. 2 prospect in Missouri in the 2025 class. He has a 91.53 rating.

In On3’s own rankings, he’s the No. 289 overall player in the class, No. 18 offensive tackle and No. 2 prospect in Missouri. On3 gave him a 90 rating.

Lange announced his top schools list eight hours after he informed Blue & Gold he was returning to campus on an unofficial visit on April 14. It will be the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 4 offensive tackle in the Midwest’s trip to South Bend.

Of the teams in Lange’s top schools, he visited Missouri four times, more than any other program. He’s also been to Nebraska three times; the Cornhuskers were the first school to offer him a scholarship. He’s visited Ole Miss twice, Michigan once and never reported a trip to Wisconsin.

During the January recruiting contact period, Lange visited Arkansas (Jan. 13), Missouri (Jan. 15), Notre Dame (Jan. 20) and Ole Miss (Feb. 2).

Irish offensive line coach Joe Rudolph offered Lange on Nov. 15, less than a month after he attended the Oct. 28 Pittsburgh game, his first trip to South Bend.

The Irish already have two offensive tackles committed in the 2025 cycle in four-star prospects Will Black and Owen Strebig.  Strebig and Black are the No. 12 and No. 23 offensive tackles in 2025, respectively.

Still, the Irish target Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School’s Matty Augustine, the No. 25 offensive tackle in 2025. Augustine will reveal his commitment on Tuesday.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Notre Dame has an 81.7% chance of landing Lange’s commitment. On Jan. 21, Blue & Gold recruiting insider Mike Singer predicted that Lange would eventually commit to the Irish.

Lange’s On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $68,000. That ranks No. 422 among high school football recruits.
