The All-American Bowl is honoring prospects who are committed to playing in the prestigious postseason all-star game as part of a virtual jersey presentation. Notre Dame linebacker pledge Drayk Bowen received his jersey on Wednesday — making his status as an All-American official — as seen in the image above.

Having been selected to play in the twenty-third edition of the All-American Bowl, Bowen will play in the annual East vs. West matchup inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on January 7, 2023. The Bowl will be nationally televised, live on NBC and Peacock, and will feature 100 of the nation’s high school football players.

Notre Dame had 11 signees committed to playing in the 2022 All-American Bowl and several are already confirmed for next year’s game. Bowen will play on the same field with Houston The Kinkaid School cornerback Micah Bell, Folsom (Calif.) High wide receiver Rico Flores Jr., Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman offensive tackle Charles Jagusah, Irvington (N.J.) High safety Adon Shuler and Mentor (Ohio) High defensive lineman Brenan Vernon. So, that’s already six Notre Dame verbals committed to playing in the game, and more certainly could be added over the next few months.

Among the 21 recruits Notre Dame signed last December for the 2022 cycle, 16 of them played or were invited to one of the three major postseason all-star games: the All-American Bowl, the Under Armour All-America Game and the Polynesian Bowl. The 2023 class should be another year with a handful of appearances from Notre Dame signees.

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Bowen ranks as the No. 86 overall player and No. 6 linebacker nationally in the 2023 class.

On3 scouting report for Drayk Bowen

Two-sport superstar for Indiana football and baseball state champion Andrean who’s violent in the box as a linebacker and as a running back. Totaled 105 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 3 interceptions on defense. Carried the ball 155 times for 965 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense during his junior campaign. Downhill thumper that beats ball carriers to the spot. Excellent instincts and ability to trigger. Effective blitzer and spy player. Has some hip stiffness to him. Overall athleticism shines on tape but unverified long speed is the biggest question mark. Heady player who will anchor a defense at the next level. Top speed development will determine NFL potential. Middle infielder who is committed to play baseball at the next level along with football. One of the older players in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
