Notre Dame’s 2023 class currently has 23 pledges, signaling the group is almost complete. While there are a few names still on the board, and surely a couple more to come this fall, it is not premature to shift some attention toward the 2024 class.

Head coach Marcus Freeman already has six pledges from the rising juniors, including elite quarterback CJ Carr. The class currently ranks second nationally only behind reigning national champion Georgia.

The Irish will begin to pick up additional commitments from the 2024 group throughout the fall and certainly into next spring. As of now, here are 10 recruits from that class who are leaning in Notre Dame’s direction according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Note: recruits are listed in order of increasing On3 RPM in favor of Notre Dame.

Hannibal (Mo.) High ATH Aneyas Williams

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 24 athlete, No. 308 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (31.4 percent), Kentucky (18.6 percent), Missouri (8.3 percent)

While Kentucky and Missouri have the higher shot according to On3 RPM, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida are SEC schools sitting just behind for Williams at 7 percent each. The 5-10, 195-pounder’s offer list doesn’t stop there. Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State and Ole Miss are among those also interested after Williams has broken onto the scene in recent months.

Chicago Kenwood Academy EDGE Marquise Lightfoot

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 24 EDGE, No. 390 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (34.2 percent), Michigan (15.7 percent), Minnesota (13.4 percent)

Lightfoot is a three-star recruit right now, but he has quite the offer list. Notre Dame, Michigan, Ole Miss, Auburn and USC are among those who have extended the option. Lightfoot visited South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game and loved what he saw.

Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side WR Tae Johnson

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 13 wide receiver, No. 80 nationally
On3 RPM prediction: Notre Dame (54 percent), Penn State (24.8 percent)

The majority of Johnson’s Power Five offers are from schools in the Midwest, but he is beginning to make a name for himself on the national stage. Johnson got his Irish offer on June 5 after participating in the Irish Invasion camp.

Cincinnati Withrow CB Terhyon Nichols

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 25 cornerback, No. 213 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (58.3 percent), Miami (OH) (4.6 percent), Kentucky (4 percent)

While the On3 Consensus has Nichols as a top-250 recruit, On3 thinks even higher of the Ohio native, slotting him at No. 118 nationally. The 5-10, 170-pound defensive back’s biggest offers right now are the Irish plus Tennessee and Michigan State. Ohio State has its eye on him, however.

Chicago St. Ignatius DL Justin Scott

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 1 defensive lineman, No. 16 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (69.1 percent), Wisconsin (15.7 percent), Iowa (9.3 percent)

On3 has just three five-star recruits in its 2024 class at this time, and Scott is one of them; the On3 recruiting insiders believe he is even better than his On3 Consensus ranking suggests, as he checks in at No. 3 nationally. The 6-5, 310-pound Chicago native is a massive interior defensive lineman. Notre Dame doesn’t typically land those types of players, but considering Scott is in school’s backyard, Scott is a must-get.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco S Peyton Woodyard

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 2 safety, No. 25 player nationally
On3 RPM prediction: Notre Dame (78.6 percent), USC (6.6 percent), Ohio State (2.9 percent)

Woodyard was one of the earlier recruits signaling Notre Dame might be his final destination, especially considering he is the cousin of former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton. The Southern California native has visited the Trojans six times, with Notre Dame and Ohio State having received three visits apiece. He will be in Columbus for the Irish-Buckeyes showdown on Sept. 3.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic LB Anthony Speca

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 22 linebacker, No. 250 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (83.4 percent), Penn State (5.7 percent), Michigan (3.9 percent)

The linebacker out of Kurt and Donovan Hinish’s high school has an On3 RPM leaning heavily in Notre Dame’s direction. While the Irish are certainly in the mix, this is a tight race between Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan and South Carolina. BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer entered a prediction for Speca to head to Notre Dame, which is a large reason why the Irish have such a sizable On3 RPM lead.

Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy CB Kaleb Beasley

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 21 cornerback, No. 188 player nationally
On3 RPM prediction: Notre Dame (83.6 percent), Tennessee (3.6 percent), Georgia (2.1 percent)

Beasley was on campus for Irish Invasion and loved it. His family is also a big fan of the Irish program, and Singer entered a prediction for Beasley to land at Notre Dame as a result.

St. Louis (Mo.) University WR Ryan Wingo

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 4 wide receiver, No. 12 player nationally
On3 RPM prediction: Notre Dame (85.4 percent), Arkansas (3.6 percent), Missouri (2.1 percent)

Freeman has had immense success getting receivers to pledge to Notre Dame, and Wingo would be the biggest yet. He will likely ultimately become a five-star recruit. According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Wingo has been clocked with a sub-4.40 40-yard dash time. His brothers played college football at Arkansas and Missouri, hence the interest there.

Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic ATH Emmett Mosley

On3 Consensus ranking: No. 15 athlete, No. 205 nationally
On3 RPM prediction:
Notre Dame (98.6 percent)

This should be a slam dunk for Notre Dame, and as it currently stands, it’s pretty close to that. Mosley is the son of two former Irish athletes, Emmett IV and Cindy (née Daws). Mosley’s father played running back and receiver at Notre Dame from 1993-96, and his mother was a top soccer player during the same time period. The family also used to live in Chicago.
