Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players and Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. This week’s guest is New Jersey safety prospect Jayden Bonsu.

COLUMBUS — The last month has been a busy one for Jayden Bonsu.

The country’s No. 12-ranked safety prospect has been on the road most weekends. He’s been checking out a number of the top schools on his recruiting list, including Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State. He’s working through a Top 10 schools list he released on Easter and hoping to find the right spot for him and his future.

All the while, Bonsu is trying to navigate the ever-changing world of college football. Name, Image and Likeness opportunities are everywhere. As great as they are, those have to be measured alongside relationships and development. It’s hard for anyone to know which way is up right now.

But Jayden Bonsu isn’t panicked. He’s enjoying the process and getting to know coaches around the country. Those bonds will ultimately decide his college choice.

What has made Ohio State such a standout for Bonsu at this point in his recruitment? How has Perry Eliano shown him that he’s different than other coaches? What is Jayden Bonsu looking for in a head coach? Does he feel any rush to commit knowing the Buckeyes have likely one spot left at safety?

The four-star safety from St. Peter’s Prep (Hillside, N.J.) talks about those things and more in the latest edition of Birminology from Lettermen Row.
