The Early-Signing Period is here and Ohio State is set to once again bring in one of the country’s best recruiting classes. Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2024 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Ian Moore has signed with the Buckeyes.

COLUMBUS — Ohio State identified an anchor early in the 2024 cycle and all he’s done is continue to improve every day.

Ian Moore has signed his Letter of Intent to Ohio State. What does it mean for the Buckeyes, however? Lettermen Row breaks it down.

Who is Ian Moore?

Ian Moore is a four-star offensive tackle from New Palestine, Indiana. Moore was a two-way starter for the New Palestine Dragons, but was notable as an offensive tackle in Central Indiana.

He is the longest-tenured commit to the Buckeyes’ 2024 class as he ended his recruitment on Oct. 20, 2022. Moore made visits to Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Alabama and more before he committed to the Buckeyes.

Ian Moore is one of the bigger offensive tackles in the 2024 cycle. At 6-foot-6, 295 pounds, the Hoosier State native is a massive addition for offensive line coach Justin Frye.

Moore and Ohio State first met at a recruiting camp in June 2022 where he and Frye quickly connected. The now-Ohio State signee left with an offer from the Buckeyes and that relationship quickly grew.

How did Moore end up at Ohio State?

As we mentioned above, that recruiting camp in June 2022 created the foundation of a relationship between Ian Moore and Justin Frye. The two Indiana natives built up that relationship over time and after a couple of game day visits in 2022, Moore ended his recruitment.

Ever since he’s been all Ohio State and hasn’t even answered the phone for other schools.

“There is recruiting to it, but like, it’s Ohio State, and you can’t really beat it,” Moore said. “It’s family here, it’s a brotherhood. No matter how far away you are from your family, this is a brotherhood.

Moore is one of four offensive linemen committed for the Buckeyes, but make no mistake he’s certainly one of the class leaders. He will be on campus in January as an early enrollee.
