COLUMBUS — Ohio State has found its second tight end for the 2024 class: Damarion Witten has committed to the Buckeyes.

The four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville tight end chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky and others.

Witten is the No. 23 tight end, No. 353 overall prospect and No. 12 Ohio prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Witten was supposed to visit Columbus for the spring game but had a cancelation in his plans for personal reasons. That clearly didn’t make a dent in his intentions, however. Witten received his Ohio State offer midway through his junior season with the Tarblooders.

He spoke with Lettermen Row about the offer at the time and how the offer excited him.

“Oh man, this motivates me even more than before,” Witten said about earning the offer. “As a player, it tells me that I can do anything and that everything is possible.”

Witten was a major weapon for Glenville as it captured an Ohio Division IV state championship and an undefeated record last fall. Though he is a tight end and will play that position at the next level, he lined up out wide plenty of times last fall.

Lettermen Row was present for one of the Tarblooders’ games last fall and Witten’s ability to highpoint the ball while remaining physical on the landing is certainly impressive.

He now joins four-star Chattanooga (Tenn) Baylor School tight end Max LeBlanc in the class and solidifies the first two tight end commits with Keenan Bailey running the room.

The rest of the Buckeyes’ offensive class is certainly impressive with five-star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. At quarterback, they have four-star talent Air Noland. In the backfield are James Peoples, Jordan Lyle and Sam Williams-Dixon. And in the trenches are Ian Moore, Deontae Armstrong, Devontae Armstrong and Marc Nave.

The defensive class currently consists of linebacker duo Garrett Stover and Payton Pierce, safety Jaylen McClain and cornerback Bryce West.

The offensive puzzle for the 2024 cycle is nearing completion.

But they just put the finishing touches on their tight end haul.
