The Early-Signing Period is here and Ohio State is set to once again bring in one of the country’s best recruiting classes. Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2023 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Miles Walker has signed with the Buckeyes.

COLUMBUS — Miles Walker committed to Ohio State in July and maybe more than a few folks were scratching their heads.

But offensive line coach Justin Frye and Walker knew the plan and knew the long-term vision.

That vision is set to take place now that he has signed his National Letter of Intent.

What does it mean for the Buckeyes? Let’s break it down.

Who is Miles Walker?

Miles Walker is a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle who committed to the Buckeyes on July 8, 2022. Walker was the final offensive lineman committed to the Buckeyes’ 2023 class. He did not have a known list of top schools, but he held 13 Power 5 offers.

On3 Consensus Ranking: Three-star, No. 503 overall, No. 32 OT, No. 3 Connecticut

On3 Ranking: Three-star, Unranked nationally, No. 40 OT, No. 4 Connecticut

Hometown: Greenwich, Connecticut

High School: The Brunswick School.

Walker physically is one of the most impressive prospects in the Buckeyes’ 2023 class. His measurables were just listed, but Walker visited for The Game and looked a little bigger than those numbers.

He has massive upside and potential that offensive line coach Justin Frye will develop into a special talent. Walker led his high school team to a championship season and that mentality will carry over once he arrives in Columbus.

He is the only scouted offensive tackle in the class, but he’s certainly not alone in the offensive line haul. Luke Montgomery, Josh Padilla and Austin Siereveld round out the class.

How did Walker end up at Ohio State?

Walker committed to Ohio State almost a month after he took an official visit to Columbus. Ohio State was arguably the biggest school that offered Walker and the New England connection between him and Frye was a factor in the relationship-building process.
