Five-star Cornerback Na'eem Offord Commits To Buckeyes In Massive Win For Tim Walton Ohio State

COLUMBUS — Ohio State is at it again on the recruiting trail and the January wave carried into February.

Na’eem Offord has committed to the Buckeyes.

The five-star Plus+ Birmingham (Ala) Parker cornerback picked Ohio State over a field of nearly 40+ including Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Miami and many more. Offord is the No. 4 overall prospect, the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 1 Alabama prospect according to On3.

The only difference in those rankings in the On3 Industry Rankings is in the overall spot, which pits Offord as the No. 5 prospect.

He is the third cornerback commit in the Buckeyes’ 2025 class, joining five-star Houston (Texas) North Shore talent Devin Sanchez and four-star Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy star Blake Woodby. Offord is now the highest-rated pledge in the Ohio State class.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback visited Ohio State the weekend of Feb. 3 and was blown away by the experience according to Lettermen Row sources.

Earlier in the cycle, Offord spoke with On3 Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons, about his interest in the Buckeyes.

“I really like Coach Tim Walton because he will tell you the truth and keep it real with you,” Offord said. Everything about Coach Walton is real.

“He has been in the game for a while and he has coached some great players, so I like that I am getting to know him. At Ohio State, I liked the staff, the facilities and how welcoming they were.”

Cornerbacks coach Tim Walton has assembled a powerful 2025 class and it’s only February. With Offord’s commitment to the Buckeyes, they have now catapulted to the top-rated class in the On3 Team Industry Rankings.

Offord is the fifth member of the 2025 Silver Bullets as well. Along with the two corners, four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institue EDGE Zahir Mathis and three-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee round out the defensive haul for the Buckeyes.

Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair and four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe headline the offensive class. Four-star Cocoa (Fla) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs rounds out the class for Ohio State.

There is now just one more cornerback spot in the Buckeyes’ 2025 class. The targets are in abundance and that spot is going to be hard to secure given the firepower at the top of the board.

But make no mistake, if the Buckeyes take three, it’s not bad at all. Devin Sanchez and Blake Woodby chose Ohio State.

Now, the nation’s top-rated cornerback has committed to Ohio State.
