COLUMBUS — Ohio State routinely recruits some of the best players in the country and that won’t ever change. The Buckeyes hold three commitments from prospects in the 2025 cycle and there’s a possibility that the class could expand, again, as soon as this week.

Those three committed prospects? Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair, four-star Cocoa (Fla) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs and four-star Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy cornerback Blake Woodby.

All three future Buckeyes found themselves inside the latest On300 and Lettermen Row quickly runs through the rankings update.

Tavien St. Clair

Old Ranking: No. 299 overall, No. 23 quarterback, No. 9 Ohio prospect.

New Ranking: No. 12 overall, No. 2 quarterback, No. 1 Ohio prospect.

This is a much-deserved rankings update for the best player within the Buckeye State. St. Clair has been nothing but impressive this fall throughout his junior season and continues to develop into a quarterback with all of the five-star potential in the world.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback is undoubtedly Ohio State’s class leader, also known as Captain Buckeye. St. Clair has already put in work peer recruiting, specifically with offensive linemen Carter Lowe and Avery Gach.

St. Clair will be at Ohio State this weekend for the Penn State game.

Jayvan Boggs

Old Ranking: Unranked overall, No. 57 wide receiver, No. 52 Florida prospect

New Ranking: No. 188 overall, No. 25 wide receiver, No. 27 Florida prospect

Another major ascension for an Ohio State commit and well-earned. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver and recent Ohio State commit has over 800 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns through seven games this fall.

Boggs committed to Ohio State on Oct. 9 and cited his relationship with position coach Brian Hartline as a major reason why. He will be on campus for the Buckeyes game this weekend.

Blake Woodby

Old Ranking: No. 218 overall, No. 21 cornerback, No. 7 Maryland prospect

New Ranking: No. 268 overall, No. 31 cornerback, No. 9 Maryland prospect

This is a note-worthy adjustment for Blake Woodby, but the good news is that it’s not because of his play this fall. Rather, it’s because of the lack of playing time he’s had. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback has been sidelined this fall because of a lingering injury and as a result, hasn’t been able to showcase his skillset in an important stretch of his recruitment.

Woodby committed to Ohio State on Oct. 14 close to when the Buckeyes’ road win over Purdue was wrapped up. He will be on campus this weekend for the Penn State game.
