COLUMBUS — Ohio State has hit the recruiting trail in full force this week.

The Buckeyes have extended as many as 20 offers to prospects in the 2024 cycle and beyond.

Including 2025 four-star Houston (Texas) Atascocita running back Tory Blaylock. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound running back announced the offer via Twitter.

Blaylock already holds 18 offers on a sheet that includes programs like Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. On3 has not yet released its 2025 rankings, but the On3 Consensus has Blaylock in as the No. 9 running back and No. 57 overall prospect in his cycle.

The up-and-coming national prospect has already visited Ohio State once in his recruiting process so far. He camped in Columbus last June where the relationship with running back coach Tony Alford began.

Blaylock’s offer comes after an impressive sophomore campaign this fall. He was the lead back for the Eagles who finished the season 11-3 after a 38-7 loss to Houston (Texas) North Shore in the fourth round of the playoffs.

Ohio State has now offered seven running backs in the 2025 cycle. Alvin Henderson, Harlem Berry, Jordon Davison, Ousmane Kromah, Gideon Davidson and Byron Louis all hold offers from the Buckeyes. Cleveland (Ohio) athlete Bo Jackson also holds an offer from Ohio State and is recruited as a running back.

It’s not too early to think about the cycles of tomorrow, but Ohio State has an important 2024 cycle ahead of it after not taking a tailback in the 2023 class. Preferred walk-on Willtrell Hartson picked Ohio State despite scholarship opportunities elsewhere, however. Hartson has the potential to develop into a scholarship running back, but it will take time.

As the Buckeyes navigate the trail for its next great running back or running backs in 2024, Alford and company haven’t stopped looking toward the future.

And that’s noted by Tory Blaylock’s new offer.
