2026 3-star Meridian (ID) Rocky Mountain interior offensive lineman Jax Tanner is closing in on the finish line. On Sunday, the coveted offensive lineman set his college commitment date for July 12.

Tanner is ranked the No. 441 player nationally, the No. 35 interior offensive lineman and the No. 2 prospect in Idaho according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’ll choose from a top group featuring BYU, Boise State, Michigan, Oregon and Tennessee and make his decision at 6 PM PT.

Tanner took official visits to each of his finalists, with BYU getting the final trip.

ScoopDuck caught up with the Idaho prep following his Oregon official visit.

“They’re all big in their family,” he said of what stood out on the trip. “That’s one thing I kind of picked up on. One of the really cool things they say is don’t tell me, show me. Proof’s in the pudding. A lot of people talk about how big they are on family. But these guys actually have their kids running around at OV dinners, which is something that’s really rare to see, which I thought was super cool.”

Tanner was named the 2024 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year for football following another impressive season with the the Grizzlies. Rocky Mountain finished the season with a 10-1 overall record and went 5-0 in 6A Southern Idaho play.

One of Idaho’s top prospects plans to take a mission trip with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints upon graduation.

Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class currently features three offensive line commits. 2026 3-star Honolulu (HI) Farrington interior offensive lineman Koloi Keli flipped from Cal late last month, while 4-star San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi and 5-star+ plus Baltimore (MD) Georgetown Preparatory School offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho both committed to Oregon last week.
