Oregon Loses Quarterback Commit
The Ducks were fortunate to lock up a pair of quarterback commits early in this recruiting class. It would appear with the early signing period just a few weeks out one has had a change of heart however.
St. Frances Academy (Md.) quarterback Michael Van Buren committed to Oregon back in May. Earlier today the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder backed off his commitment to Oregon.
Van Buren is the No. 283 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the 16 ranked quarterback nationally.

Oregon still has a verbal commitment from Sunnyslope (Ariz.) quarterback Luke Moga in the 2024 recruiting class. The Ducks are also expected to be active in the transfer portal at the position following the graduation of Bo Nix.
The Ducks also have a commitment from Van Buren’s teammate, defensive back Ify Obidwegu in the 2024 class.
