It’s decision day for Josiah Brown. Penn State football is waiting on two recruiting announcements on Friday. One of them will come from the four-star receiver who is the No. 1 player in the state of New York, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. The other is Pittsburgh three-star Peter Gonzalez, who also announces at 7 p.m.

Tracking Josiah Brown’s recruitment
Penn State offered Brown, who stands 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, on March 18, 2022. Before that, he had only a few Power Five offers. He’d end up claiming 25. The Hicksville, N.Y., native released a top seven this past April that included Penn State, Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Rutgers. He took official visits to see the Nittany Lions and Scarlet Knights. He took unofficial visits to those campuses three and seven times, respectively. The only other school he took multiple unofficial to was Syracuse.
Who are the contenders?
Brown released a top three on Thursday night. It included the Nittany Lions, Scarlet Knights, and Bulldogs. But, since he only took officials to the first two, they appear to be the legitimate finalists.

Speaking to BWI following his official visit to Penn State, Brown had this to say:
“It’s kind of hard to pinpoint one thing. Everything was great. What I would say is that they have a really strong family atmosphere there. I feel like I have a strong connection with everyone there, and because of that, I loved everything about my visit.”
