Murphy, one of the leaders of the No. 7 Texas Longhorns defense both on and off the field, drew high praise from Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian earlier this season for how No. 90 plays and thinks on and off the gridiron.

“He’s built like a pit bull, man,” Sarkisian said. “He’s strong. He’s got really strong shoulders. He’s extremely quick and powerful. He’s got a very high football IQ, and he plays hard. Those are all really cool prerequisites that you want to have as a defensive lineman, especially with his stature.”

Murphy, 6-foot-1, 290-pounder, joins Texas defensive linemen T’Vondre Sweat and offensive tackle Christian Jones at the 2024 Senior Bowl.
