The Cypress (Texas) Cy-Woods product, who has arguably been the Longhorns’ top offensive lineman this season, has started and played at right tackle in 10 of Texas’ 11 games and helped the offense gain an average of 347 yards per game. He was also named All Big 12 honorable mention following the 2022 season. He helped anchor an offensive line unit that was named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given annually to the nation’s top offensive line.

The Joe Moore Award voting committee judges solely on six criteria: toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique and finishing. Evaluations for the midseason honor roll were made solely through weekly review of actual game film and offensive line coach-provided cutups.

Jones decided to return to Austin following his 2022 season, utilizing the year of eligibility relief provided by the NCAA as a result of the COVD-19 pandemic. Jones joins Texas defensive linemen T’Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy at the 2024 Senior Bowl.
