In this episode, Justin and Bobby discuss:

  1. Justin and Bobby open with the Elite Eight battle with Miami on Sunday. With UT leading by 12 with 10 minutes remaining, the Horns couldn’t overcome the injury bug (Dylan Disu, Marcus Carr, Sir’Jabari Rice), poor shot selection down the stretch, and an abnormally large amount of calls, including Miami owning an 32-to-10 difference in second half free throws. Overall, as we’ve reported, Rodney Terry is expected to be named the next head coach at Texas in the next few days. The job he did after the dismissal of Chris Beard was nothing short of spectacular. With McDonald’s All American Ron Holland set to hit campus in June, the hoops squad will reload.
  2. Justin and Bobby talk about the big Junior Day recruiting event on Saturday. Prospects were able to watch practice and get more 1-on-1 time with Steve Sarkisian and the UT staff. The No. 1 EDGE in 2024, Duncanville’s Colin Simmons, was the top dog on campus and actually stayed the longest. They moved the needle with Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe RB Christian Clark, where one source said he’s a culture fit and his family enjoyed the trip. Melissa’s Nigel Smith came back as it appears Texas may be approaching that recruitment differently, and another defensive lineman, Duncanville defender Alex January, came back after attending the first Junior Day and loved the hands-on approach this visit, who will take an official to Austin on June 23-25.
  3. Justin and Bobby finish up with a Texas practice report. On Saturday, there was a ton of teaching, drills, and 11-on-11 at the end of the session. Players that stood out include T’Vondre Sweat (who intercepted Quinn Ewers on a screen play), Aaron Bryant, Savion Red, Deandre Moore, and Arch Manning, who we’re told is ahead of schedule in the college game. The practice was heavy on correcting mistakes, intensity, and players playing hard. It was perfect weather for such an important day in Austin.
